Natural Face Moisturizer Should Not Contain Parabens

I was shocked. About six months ago I met a lady who sold so called natural face moisturizer products. The company she was a consultant for was based in Switzerland. Their product catalog looked liked their skin care was plant based and natural, and what the lady told me sounded all good.

My mistake was I didn't look at the ingredient list close enough when I glanced through the catalog. She told me I could order online, so not wanting to place an order right then, I told her I'd check out the website and take a closer look at their natural moisturizer products and place an order there.

She sent me an empty bottle home so I'd know what to order. After taking a closer look online, I found the product was listed, but I couldn't find any ingredient list, and picking up the bottle I had, there was no ingredients listed on there either. The label said for your personal skin care and nutritional information contact your consultant.

This should have given me clue, that I was not looking at an all natural moisturizer, but at the time I didn't give it a second thought. I knew a friend of the lady's, and trusted my friend, plus I had seen the catalog and remembered a lot of the ingredients were plant based. Ingredients like aloe, avocado oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and other plant based ingredients.

To make a long story short, I went online and ordered the "natural" face moisturizer, only to find out when it came along with a free complimentary catalog with the ingredients listed, that I had a product with a lot of natural ingredients, but not totally natural.

I discovered this natural moisturizer contained methylparaben. Parabens are suspected of causing cancer. Parabens mimic the hormone estrogen. Estrogen is known to play a role in the development of breast cancers.

Parabens are used as a preservative in lots of products like shampoos, shaving gels, toothpaste, as a food additive, and even some so called natural moisturizer products. The amounts are small in each of these products, but if you add them all up, it adds up to a great amount of paraben being ingested in the body.

I called the consultant and told her I didn't want the product and wanted my $75 back, because the natural face moisturizer she sold me was not healthy, because of the paraben it contained.

She didn't have any idea what I was talking about. She had never heard of parabens. Now granted she was fairly new to the company, and only sold this natural face moisturizer in her spare time, so she didn't know the products real well. She just knew her distributor had told her these products were all natural.

The point of this article is don't be fooled by companies that don't list their ingredients online or on the back of the products. Ask the consultant or contact the company and ask for a complete list of what is the product. Stay clear from any natural face moisturizer or any other skin care product that lists any form of parabens. These are synthetic preservatives for a longer shelf life for the product.

A safer preservative for skin care products is natural vitamin E (Apha-tocopherol). It may cost the manufacturer a bit more to use, but t is safe. It is a powerful antioxidant that reverses the effect of aging and also works as a preservative for the product. So check the ingredients of the "all" natural face moisturizer you use, do be sure it is all-natural.
