Removing Skin Tags the Easy Way, at Home!

Skin tags seem to pop up in the strangest places, when you least expect them. They can be irritating as well as unattractive and having to pay frequent visits to the doctor to have them removed is both expensive as well as tiresome. Fortunately for you there are ways of removing skin tags at home which are painless and practical.

First you have to determine that you are indeed dealing with a skin tag. More serious growths can occur, but a skin tag is small and it grows slowly, they are never larger than about a half inch, and appear to be attached to the skin by a narrow stalk known as a peduncle. They generally flap around easily and are soft, they are also usually the same color as the surrounding skin, but may be slightly darker.

As soon as you know what it is you are dealing you are able to commence with the removal project. One way of doing this is to tie a piece of dental floss or thread around the base of the skin tag. This has to be tight, so you might need a little help if the skin tag is in an awkward place. Clean and sterilize a pair of nail clippers or scissors and cut the skin tag off. Keep the area clean with disinfectant or hydrogen peroxide until the area has healed.

This method is relatively painless and the skin tag should not grow back, however if the though of snipping away at a piece of your own flesh does not appeal to you, there are other less "surgical" methods. For instance make up a thick mixture of Castor oil and baking soda. Apply this paste at frequent intervals during the day and it will generally get rid of your skin tags within two weeks.

Wart removal preparations may also be used, as well as preparations which are specifically manufactured for the purpose of skin tag removal. Other cheap home remedies include nail polish and apple cider vinegar (separately). However take caution if you are going to use apple cider vinegar near the eyes, it really smarts if it gets in your eyes.
